Rep Prep: Spend a Few Minutes with Mike Cushing
In this month's Rep Prep, we're introducing Mike Cushing. Joining our quotes department, Mike has been in the foodservice industry since high school and has no plans of slowing down as he continues to grow.
Give us a little background on yourself.
I was born and raised in South Florida, where I spent most of my life. Growing up, I played a lot of sports, but I pursued baseball for the better part of 10 years. When it came time for high school, I took automotive classes to go to a better school while learning a skill/trade for life. I thought I would work for Ford, but when I turned 16, I got my first job at Miller’s Ale House (sports bar & grill) as a busser and have been in foodservice ever since.
After spending four years in restaurants and learning the many positions, I moved to the foodservice equipment and smallware’s sector, where I spent the next six years learning another side of foodservice.
How many years have you been in the industry?
Ten total years.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see myself living in North Carolina and building my family and home with my wife. I’m hoping to grow with the company and help lead the quoting/IQ team someday.
