Eaton Marketing is excited to welcome Eric Meaney to the team as our new North Florida Sales Rep. Eric brings more than 15 years of experience in the foodservice and hospitality industry. With a background that spans culinary, bar management, recruiting, and entrepreneurship, he’s no stranger to the fast-paced, people-first world we work in every day.

Let’s learn a little more about what he looks for in a work environment and the best piece of advice anyone has given him.

What’s your background?

I’m an Indiana native who relocated to Florida in 2003. For the past 15-plus years, I’ve been working in the foodservice and hospitality industry in North and South Florida.

During my time in Florida, I ventured into an entrepreneurial pathway, specializing in recruiting hospitality professionals and corporate infrastructure for nearly 5 years.

What attracted you to Eaton Marketing? What excites you about joining our team?

The attraction to Eaton Marketing was their dedication to being hospitable and devotion to the customer. After meeting with leadership, it was the perfect fit for me. Their core values are in line with mine, personally and professionally, and I’m excited to join the team.

What skills or experiences from your past roles will be most beneficial in your new position?

I have a diverse background in culinary, bar knowledge, and management. These skills will be beneficial and crucial to success in my new position.

What does a positive work environment look like to you? How do you plan to contribute to that at Eaton Marketing?

A positive work environment for me starts with company culture. This sets the tone for the day, week, month, and year. If you enjoy your job and going to work, it becomes a passion.

What are your professional goals for the next 5 years?

I love to grow and learn daily. My goal is to be a leader and a go-to representative for our dealers in my territory.

What trends or changes in our industry are you most excited about?

Innovation within the industry is unprecedented.

What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time, I’m a family man. I have two wonderful daughters (9 and 4), an amazing wife, and also the mother-in-law (jk).

We live the ballet life in St. Augustine, and it’s amazing but busy. For me I’m a sports enthusiast. Basketball was my life for 20 years. Now it’s golf. I’m a die-hard Indiana Hoosiers and Indianapolis Colts fan.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received, and what was the impact?

Always kiss your wife goodnight. The impact? I’m still married after 13 years and very happy.

What is one fun fact about you that might surprise your new colleagues?

I’ve backpacked abroad on three separate occasions, totaling 18 cities across 10 countries.
